Equipment

  • 2 tall glasses
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Soup spoon for layering

Ingredients

  • 2 oz grenadine
  • 6 oz lemonade
  • 3 oz non-alcoholic vodka alternative like Ritual Zero Proof, Seedlip, or Lyre's
  • 2 oz blue curaçao syrup non-alcoholic

Instructions

  • Pour 1 ounce of grenadine into each glass, then fill with ice.
  • Mix together the lemonade and non-alcoholic vodka alternative. Very slowly pour this mixture into each glass over the back of a spoon to create the white layer.
  • Hold an upside-down spoon over the glass and SLOWLY pour blue curaçao syrup over the back of the spoon to create the blue layer.
  • Serve immediately.

Expert Notes

The key to successful layering is pouring very slowly over the back of a spoon to prevent the layers from mixing.
The drink will eventually mix together as the ice melts.
If you can't find non-alcoholic vodka alternative, you can substitute with club soda or sprite (though this will make it sweeter).
For the blue curaçao syrup, you can use Monin Blue Curaçao Syrup or another non-alcoholic blue syrup.
