Thick, creamy, and rich, this chocolate freakshake comes in two ways: one loaded with cookies and one with salty pretzels and peanuts.
Print Recipe
- 500 g 4 cups chocolate ice cream
- 240 ml 1 cup milk (whole milk preferred, adjust for thickness)
- Whipped cream or whipped topping for garnish
- 4-6 chocolate cookies like sandwich cookies
- Mini Oreo cookies whole (for decoration)
- 2 chocolate bars
- Chocolate sauce for rim and drizzling
- Pretzels for garnish
- Peanuts crushed or whole, for the rim (variation 1)
Step 1: Prepare the Rim
Melt the chocolate bars in a microwave or over a double boiler until smooth.
Dip the rim of one milkshake glass into the melted chocolate and immediately coat it with peanuts (for the peanut rim version).
For the Oreo rim version, dip another glass into the melted chocolate and carefully stick whole mini Oreos around the rim while the chocolate is still soft.
Let rims set in the fridge for 5–10 minutes so decorations hold firmly.
Step 2: Make the Shake
In a blender, combine chocolate ice cream and milk. Blend until smooth and thick.
Taste and adjust: add more milk if you want it thinner, or more ice cream if you want it thicker.
Step 3: Assemble
Pour the shake into each decorated glass.
Top generously with whipped cream.
Add pretzels, extra cookies, and chunks of chocolate as garnish.
Drizzle chocolate sauce over the whipped cream and down the sides of the glass for a dramatic effect.
