Start by adding ice to your rocks glass to chill the drink.
Layer the mocktail right in the glass. Add the 2 ounces of vodka first, then the chai simple syrup, and homemade Kahlua. Stir to combine.
Slowly pour the half and half into the glass. Mix to combine. Alternativly you can use a milk frother to make the half and half thicker and let it sit on top of the drink.
Top your mocktail with a cinnamon stick and serve.
- Ingredient ratios: This drink is totally customizable. Try altering the ratios of ingredients to best suit your pallet. There is no wrong answer. Whichever combination speaks to you is the correct one. But it's definitely worth trying a few to find the one you love the most.
- Flavor experimentation: Sometimes, I swap out the Kahlua for Lyre's coffee originale or a shot of espresso, or I use oat milk cream for a nutty twist. The trick lies in daring to try new combinations. Consider the base recipe as your starting point. Tinkering leads to surprising discoveries, ones that often result in a personal favorite.
- Thicker Cream: If you want just a bit more body to your creamy drinks. Before adding the cream, use a milk frother to froth it just slightly before adding it to the top of your cocktail. Don't whip it up too much, tho. Keep in mind that dairy-free creams like cashew cream or oat cream may not thicken up as much. Feel free to try this out, as I have not tested this.
