You might think an alcohol-free Long Island Iced Tea is actual tea or pop with lemon. Yes, I said pop; I'm from Michigan; it's in my blood or something. This non-alcoholic Long Island Iced Tea recipe is filled with the flavors you love from a traditional Long Island, made with alcohol-free spirits and in the same manner.
A strong drink, in alcohol content and flavor, is now easily transformed into this non-alcoholic twist with help from new zero-proof brands and the loud voice of the sober movement.
When making this drink, I was somewhat intimidated since there were a lot of spirits involved. Do not worry, though! You are literally just going to pour it all into a glass and drink. No cocktail shaker, straining, or blending is involved.
This has me wondering now: would a blended Long Island Iced Tea be something people would drink?
This non-alcoholic version replaces traditional liquors for alcohol free spirits with similar flavors to the real deal. With the exception of the vodka, Lyre's, A UK-based brand, provides the zero-proof white rum, tequila, gin, and triple sec. This brand has some of the most authentic flavors when it comes to alcohol replacements. My husband and I have been known to just sit around and enjoy sips of the many options that I own, and we're just SO impressed with the quality.

Ingredients For A Non Alcoholic Long Island Iced Tea
- Strykk NA Vodka
- Lyre's White Cane Spirit
- Lyre's Agave Blanco Tequila
- Lyre's London Dry Gin
- Lyre's Orange Sec
- Simple syrup: Any brand of simple syrup works well. You can easily make your own as well using a 1:1 ratio of water to sugar.
- Fresh Lemon Juice: Freshly squeezed is best, but bottled lemon juice works well just give it a good shake before using.
- Cola to top: I HAD to get a glass bottle of cola for this recipe. Not required, but there's something about coke in a glass bottle.
- Garnishes: A lemon wheel or lemon wedge are typical garnishes. I like to layer lemon slices within the ice before making the drink.
Other sugars used for homemade simple syrups
- Cane Sugar - Cane sugar syrup is earthier, bolder, and gives a toasted sugar flavor than white sugar. Not as strong as turbinado or molasses.
- Brown Sugar - This syrup is called Demerara Syrup. Great for coffee cocktails and darker beverages.
- Palm Sugar - Golden in color with a cotton candy sweetness.
- Honey - 3:2 honey to water ratio.
- Agave Nectar- 2:1 agave to water.

Now, you might be hosting a gathering where you need to cater to those who enjoy a long island with a lot of alcohol. Swap out each zero-proof spirit with bottles of a median value. You don't need to scrape the bottom of the barrel here, but don't go all out, as it can get a bit pricey. You'll need:
- Vodka
- White Rum
- Tequila
- Dry Gin
- Triple Sec

Expert Tips To Make The Best Non Alcoholic Long Island Iced Tea
- Tall Glass: Use a tall glass to allow room for ice and the amount of different spirits used. A classic highball glass is a great choice.
- Top with Cola Last: Pour the cola on top of the mixture just before serving. This helps maintain the carbonation and effervescence for a more refreshing experience.
- Temperature Consideration: Ensure that all the ingredients are chilled before mixing to maintain the coldness of the drink without relying solely on ice. Just note that you cannot keep alcohol free spirits in the freezer.
