What is a Negroni?
In the early 1900s a man in Florance, Italy, named Count Camillo Negroni. He loved a drink called the Americano, made with Campari, sweet vermouth, and soda water.
One day, the Count wanted something stronger. So, he asked the bartender to swap the soda water for gin. And just like that, the Negroni was born!
People everywhere fell in love with its bitter, sweet, and herbal flavors. It became a famous cocktail enjoyed by many.
Non Alcoholic Negroni Ingredients

- Lyre's London Dry Gin: This non-alcoholic gin alternative is chosen for its botanical complexity and nuanced juniper flavor profile, closely resembling traditional London Dry Gin. It provides the backbone of our mocktail, offering a familiar gin character without the alcohol.
- Free Spirit Milano: Selected for its rich and aromatic nature, Free Spirits Milano serves as a suitable substitute for Campari in our non-alcoholic Negroni. Its bitter orange notes and herbal and floral notes contribute to the cocktail's distinctive bitterness, pop of color, and depth of flavor. If you're using ALL Lyre's products, Lyre's Italian Orange would replace this ingredient.
- Lyre's Aperitif Rosso: This non-alcoholic version of vermouth adds complexity and sweetness to our mocktail, balancing the bitterness of the other ingredients. Lyre's Aperitif Rosso boasts a blend of botanicals and spices, reminiscent of traditional Italian vermouth, elevating the overall taste experience.
- Garnish: Orange peel: The orange twist garnish is used for the aromatic oils, which enhance the sensory experience of the mocktail. Its citrusy notes complement the flavors of the drink while adding a visually appealing finishing touch. I often prefer an orange slice, i can squeeze more juice in, or have a nice snack!

Ways To Serve
- On the Rocks: Serve the Negroni over ice in a short glass for a classic presentation. Add a large ice cube to minimize dilution while keeping the drink chilled.
- Straight Up: Strain the Negroni into a chilled coupe glass for a more elegant presentation. This method showcases the cocktail's vibrant color and allows the flavors to shine without ice.
- With a Twist: Garnish the Negroni with a twist of citrus peel, such as orange or lemon, to enhance the aroma and add a touch of sophistication. Simply express the oils from the peel over the drink before dropping it in or placing it on the rim.
- Flamed Garnish: For a dramatic presentation, try flaming the citrus peel garnish before adding it to the drink. Carefully hold a piece of citrus peel over the flame to release the oils, creating a mesmerizing display of sparks.
